Yes, it’s a new year and it’s also a new decade. Last year, and much of the last decade has seen lots of dramas on planet earth.

We are certainly living in very interesting days!

People have lost huge money, some losing almost everything, with the global financial meltdown. Whole countries have been found totally bankrupt. A volcano that nobody had ever heard of with a name nobody could pronounce, shut down Europe for days. And here in N.Z. We had the Christchurch earthquake, and Pike River Mine disaster.

Can we remind you of a Scripture from the book of Daniel: “. . . but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” While the world is wringing their hands and medicating their fears, its time

for the Church, for God’s people to press in and know God in much greater measure. This is not a game we are playing.

God is counting on us.

Remember the “knowing God” comes first, before the “exploits”.
